An Australian home-style (fancy) breakfast ／ 素敵なホームパーティー

Our first stop today was for breakfast.  Mr. and Mrs. Brock prepared some amazing food and we ate in their lovely garden.

Mrs. Brock had been cooking for most of the previous day and the menu included:

• rhubarb and muesli parfait
• sausage and leek tartlets
• banana hot cakes
• fruit platter
• potato tart
• (beef) sausages
• hot buttered toast

It was delicious! We presented Mr. and Mrs. Brock with a photo book of Iitate village during the different seasons. We hope they enjoy it as much as we enjoyed their home cooking!

メラニー・ブロックさんのご両親は素晴らしい朝食を作ってくれました！色々なお美味しい料理を食べるチャンスでした。メニューは以下の通りとなりました。

ルーバーブ・ミュースリーパーフェー
ソーセジー・ネギのタート
バナナのホット・ケーキ
フルーツ
ポテートのタート
トースト

美味しかったです！晴れて来たので、お庭で食べました。とても良い思いでになりました。

Arrived in Perth safely! パースに着いた！

We have made it safely to Australia. It is a long way away!! We left Fukushima at 8am on Thursday and have just arrived in Perth at 6am on Friday!  We all slept more on the second flight … though some of us played games and watched films!! The weather was not very nice at 5.30am!

Next stop is breakfast – we will be eating at (MLA) Melanie’s parent’s house!

オーストラリアに無事に着いた。遠いです。木曜日の朝８時出発して、金曜日の朝６時着きました。パースまでの飛行機で寝ることが出来た。

これからの朝食はMLAのメラニーのご両親の家で食べにいきます！

Tokyo to Hong Kong! 香港に乗り換える！

We have made it to Hong Kong! It was a great flight thanks to the Cathay Pacific staff. We were given VIP treatment boarding the plane and we were able to meet the pilot!  We have another hour before our second plane ride to Australia!!!

香港に着いた！機長が一緒に写真をとってくれました。とても素敵な思いでになった。次の飛行機はパース向けです！映画を見るか、寝るかと悩んでいる。。。。。

And we are off! 出発します！

We all arrived safely at Narita Airport.  We have checked in and are now waiting for our first flight!

成田空港に着いた！間もなく出発します。キャセー　パシフィク航空会社の暖かい歓迎有り難うございます！

We are off! ワクワクです！！

We have left Fukushima for Narita Airport! Yeah....  We are taking a bus from Fukushima - we (kids) are all sitting at the back and the grown-ups are at the front! (There is nobody in the middle of our coach!!)

成田空港向けです！飛行機に乗るのはだいたい始めてです！ワクワク。。。。

Summer to winter...

We hear the weather is going to be cooler in Western Australia.
It sounds quite cold in Albany so we are bringing warm clothes.
It is so hot here in Japan right now - can it really be cold in Australia!!

西オーストラリアの天候はこれからさらに涼しくなるそうです。

オールバニーではむしろ寒く感じるでしょうから、私たちは暖かい衣服を持って行きます。日本は今とても暑いので、なんだか不思議な感じですね!!

Australia-Japan Foundation visits the Iitate village group

We were very pleased to meet Mr. Murray McLean OAM, Chairman of Australia-Japan Foundation (AJF), in Fukushima this week.
AJF is a key supporter of our visit to Western Australia.
Mr. McLean was very kind. We are looking forward to meeting more Australian friends on our visit!
